Castle distributes highly engineered metals and metal alloys to a broad range of industrial manufacturers. It sells steel (alloy, carbon, and stainless), nickel alloys, aluminum, copper, brass, cast iron, and titanium in bar, sheet, plate, and tube form. Its Transtar Metals unit distributes high-performance metals to the aerospace and defense markets. Through its Total Plastics unit, it distributes plastics in forms (such as plate, rod, and tube). A. M. Castle operates 47 steel service centers throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. It also holds 50% of steel distributor Kreher Steel. Investor Patrick Herbert controls about 25% of A. M. Castle.
